EWS1090VP
Multi-Function Electronic Warfare System
The EWS1090VP is a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) electronic warfare (EW) solution providing warfighters with configurable, out-of-the box EW capabilities to deal with the rapidly changing threat environment via a unified, EWO-friendly graphical user interface (GUI). This multi-mission, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) EW system built on the legacy SX-1000 platform and aligned with the CMOSS, SOSA™, and OpenVPX™ technical standards represents a significant step forward in the modernization of EW capabilities across services.
As a part of Pacific Defense’s EW and signals intelligence (SIGINT) family of mission systems known as SABER, the EWS1090VP provides simultaneous processing of communications and non-communications threats, direction finding and geolocation, and active and reactive electronic attack (EA). The EWS1090VP includes wideband software-defined radios (SDRs) to address frequency agile threats in congested environments, which are constantly evolving and becoming resilient to traditional EW countermeasures. Its CMOSS/SOSA alignment minimizes the time to add new capabilities through the addition of state-of-the-art software or hardware modules, including those from third-party vendors. This delivers significant advantages in terms of modularity, rapid deployment of new capabilities, speed of technology refresh, and lower cost in comparison to traditional proprietary EW systems.
